HARRISBURG – The 529 tax credit, originally House Bill 1745 and co-prime sponsored by state Reps. Kristin Marcell (R-Bucks) and Paul Friel (D-Chester), has been successfully incorporated into the recently signed Tax Code by Gov. Josh Shapiro. This new tax credit incentivizes employers to contribute to their employees' PA 529 College and Career Savings Program accounts, providing substantial benefits to families across Pennsylvania and supporting workforce development.

Mihalek, Marcell, Mercuri Stand With Israel; Proposal Would Prohibit Divestment by Colleges

HARRISBURG –Reps. Natalie Mihalek (R-Allegheny/Washington), Kristin Marcell (R-Bucks) and Rob Mercuri (R-Allegheny) today announced legislation that would solidify the Commonwealth’s support for Israel by withholding state funds from any institution of higher learning that boycotts or divests from Israel, as well as prohibiting holdings in the Pennsylvania State Treasury or Commonwealth pension funds from being divested from Israel.

Marcell, White and Mercuri Call Out House Democrats Inaction to Combat Antisemitism

HARRISBURG – Today, Reps. Kristin Marcell (R-Bucks), Martina White (R-Philadelphia), and Rob Mercuri (R-Allegheny) held a press conference to announce a discharge resolution for House Bill 1986. The resolution is in response to the Democratic majority’s failure to advance any legislation to address the rise of antisemitic actions and confrontations that have been occurring on college campuses and in Pennsylvania communities. While several legislators have introduced legislation to counter antisemitism, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives has failed to take a sufficiently clear stance on this issue.
